Prayer Wheel

The Jewish Creed linking together of Deuteonomy 6:4-9, 10:13-21 and Numbers 15:37-41. The English King James Bible version of this composite text that provides the foundation stone of the Jewish religious tradition would read as below:

Mezuzah Prayer

Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God
with all thine heart,
and with all thy soul,
and with all thy might.
And these words, which I command thee this day,
shall be in thine heart:
And thou shalt teach them diligently
unto thy children,
and shalt talk of them
when thou sittest in thine house,
and when thou walkest by the way,
and when thou liest down,
and when thou risest up.
And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand,
and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.
And thou shalt write them
upon the posts of thy house,
and on thy gates.

This is a wonderful experience and the message is beautiful.

I bless your eyes that you may see God's image in everyone.
I bless your ears that you may hear the cry of the poor.
I bless your lips that you may speak nothing but the Gospel of Jesus.
I bless your hands that everything you receive and everything you give may be a sacrament.
I bless your feet that you may run to those who need you.

A Universal Blessing

The Lord bless thee, and keep thee;
The Lord make his face shine upon thee,
and be gracious unto thee;
The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee,
And give thee peace.

Shalom! (Peace!)
Shalom! A Greeting, and a Plea for Peace

Possibly the most universally known word in the Hebrew language is the lilting and lovely Shalom (in Arabic: Salaam), which signifies both "peace" and "greetings." Used as a daily invocation, or as an introduction to meditation, the word Shalom produces an effect similar to that generated by the Sanskrit phrase Om Santi. Shalom, of course, incorporates the Sanskrit "First of all mantras," Om. It signifies both a concept and a power, and repeated use of this one word, sung out loud or phrased silently within the heart, will eventually draw towards the user that great "peace which passeth all understanding": Shulamit Shalom. Its calming effect operates on all levels, and it is, like Om, one of the key sounds of the Universe--and also one of the simplest to intone:

Shalom
[Sha-lom]

Peace

A variation of the Shalom greeting (it is also used for "goodbye") is Shalom Aleichem, "Peace be with you." A number of songs, of varying tempos and styles, have been created around these two words that call for peace on Earth and peace within the souls of everyone living upon it. The Shalom Aleichem is virtually identical to the Arabic equivalent Es-salaam aleikum.

Shalom Aleichem
[Sha-lom A-laiy-chem]

Peace be with you

When we experience natural disasters
i.e. earthquakes, floods, lightning, thunder, etc.,
this is an appropriate prayer:

"Blessed are You,
YHVH, our God,
sovereign of the universe,
whose power and strength pervade the universe."

The Lords Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever,
Amen.

A Poem of Gratitude

Thank you for your peace in the midst of the storm.
Thank you for your patchwork when I'm tattered and worn.

Thank you for your mercy when I stumble and fall.
Thank you for your answer as on the prayer line I call.

Thank you for your faithfulness, a blessing I'm undeserving of.
Thank you for your priceless gift of unconditional love.

Thank you, Lord, for saving grace as Jesus died on the cross.
Thank you for His cleansing blood and the love that paid the cost.

Thank you, Lord, most of all for loving me this way
and allowing me the opportunity to serve you every day!

God Said...

If you never felt pain,
Then how would you know that I'm a Healer?

If you never went through difficulties,
Then how would you know that I'm a Deliverer?

If you never had a trial,
Then how could you call yourself an over-comer?

If you never felt sadness,
Then how would you know that I'm a Comforter?

If you never made a mistake,
Then how would you know that I'm forgiving?

If you knew all,
Then how would you know that I will answer your questions?

If you never were in trouble,
Then how would you know that I will come to your rescue?

If you never were broken,
Then how would know that I can make you whole?

If you never had a problem,
Then how would you know that I can solve them?

If I gave you all things,
Then how would you appreciate them?

If I never corrected you,
Then how would you know that I love you?

If you had all power,
Then how would you learn to depend on me?

If your life was perfect,
Then what would you need Me for?

Presidential Prayers
gwb (8K)
The weight of the world on his shoulders;
The mountains to climb ~ so high!
The cause that hangs in the balance:
Whether men live in freedom ~ or die!
We promised to always pray for him,
But no ones makes us bend our knees ~
Don forget to pray for our president
Who must fight foes unseen.
He stepped right in line with our thinking ~
Addresses a God he loves;
The Book that he studies for answers ~
Inspired by the Lord above;
He's doing his part ~ not shirking,
While we (with a duty to pray)
Sometimes forget our pledges
Ere we kneel at the close of the day.
So let's each remember to insert his name
In the prayers we say every night
As we watch the aging take place on his face
Waging war with the enemy of right.
We owe it ~ we count it a duty ~
But it's freely we bow our knees
To pray for our president and leaders
And the land of the brave and the free!
